Proposal for format change in 2010:
I love flying Unlimited airplanes as much as the next guy, but I would like to propose a change to the FSS format for 2010. I propose changing the format from two days of Unlimited to RES on Saturday and Unlimited on Sunday. We have killed 2M in the state since dropping it from the format years ago, and I'd hate to see the same happen to RES. Plus, wouldn't you rather win a year end award for an event, instead of a Saturday or Sunday Champion?
Think it over and come on out to the upcoming Tangerine contest and we can have an informal vote for our future FSS President to ponder.

After several years of wonderful service to our Florida Soaring Society, Larry Squire will be stepping down from the office of President and Treasurer. After this year’s Tangerine Soaring event, we will be looking for new officers. If interested please contact Larry directly.

2008 year end awards:
No flyers will receive more than one plaque even though they
earned it. We will be going to a minimum of 4th place for all expert events. In some
cases 5th and 6th place may receive an award. This is because Saturday and Sunday
flyers placed very high both days. this gives other flyers a chance to score for
a plaque.
This years awards for "Sportsman " will be for 1st. and 2nd place only due
to poor class attendance. However, we are going to 4th place on all " expert" events
in 2009.
Please come to our 1st event this season in Orlando on March 7th and 8th.
